Is everybody ready??

Here’s some background: Businesses increasingly need to connect their systems to gain workflow efficiency, eliminate redundancies and other benefits.

However, tying together systems from different manufacturers or that are designed for different processes can be a challenge.

Q1. Think about your own business. Which systems would be ideal to tie together or have the ability to talk to each other?

Q2: If you’ve gone through a systems integration, what were the advantages (or what do you think they would be?)

Q3: What were the challenges or disadvantages of a systems integration — or what you would imagine them to be?
Q3a: When is it NOT a good idea to integrate your systems?

Q4: Did you encounter roadblocks — technologically, vendor-wise or personnel-wise — that surprised you?
Q4a. What timeline did you give yourself — or did your vendor give you — for complete integration?

Q5: When choosing a vendor to assist you with integration, what should you consider?
Q5a: As your business grows, how important do you think it is to have the ability to expand and tie together your systems at each stage?

Q6: What do you imagine the additional issues are for integration within a company that has complex technology or equipment, as in print?

Q7: Are your competitors integrating their systems? Why or why not? Do you a competitive advantage there?

Q8. Should your “integration” extend to customers as well? How can you integrate, even if it’s not hardwired?
Q8a: Do you think customers care if your systems are integrated? Can you envision any marketing advantages to letting them know?
